Sam Darnold and Drake Maye will meet as opponents for the first time in Super Bowl LX, though Darnold observed Maye during Maye's sophomore year at Myers Park High School. Maye drew early attention from coaches and visiting NFL veteran Josh McCown for his workout presence and routine of studying Hudl film with Darnold. High school coaches recall formative moments and personal stories — from leadership and generosity to health challenges and humor — that shaped many Super Bowl participants. Coaches of 11 players and both head coaches provided memories that highlight the personalities behind the athletes.
