Ruckert's first NFL TD catch a proud moment despite Jets' loss
"What you put on tape is who you are. So having a sense of pride of where you come from and what you stand for is how you play and what others see when they watch your film."
"Obviously, we got a lot of things we need to clean up and that's not the brand of football we want to play, but whether you're up 30 or down 30, how you play every single snap and the effort you show is who you are in this league. I've got a sense of pride in that and just would like to keep building on it. Hopefully [we'll] have better outcomes down the road."
Jeremy Ruckert, a Jets tight end from Lindenhurst, caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor with 3:28 remaining in a 30-10 loss to Buffalo. Ruckert values playing hard on every snap and believes game film reflects who a player is and where he comes from. The team needs to correct many issues and improve its brand of football, but Ruckert intends to keep building effort and pride for better outcomes. Ruckert totaled 35 receptions in his first three seasons and had three catches for 21 yards in two games this year. Bill Ruckert, his father and lifelong Jets season-ticket holder, celebrated the touchdown on social media and defended his son's achievement; Jeremy appreciates that support despite joking about his father's online presence.
