Gear from Alex Ovechkin's 895th career goal added to Hockey Hall of Fame

Alex Ovechkin's record-breaking 895th career goal memorabilia has been added to the Hockey Hall of Fame's "NHL Today" showcase. The exhibit includes Ovechkin's jersey, socks worn during the historic goal, and gloves and a stick used in the 2018 Stanley Cup Final. An authentication process was conducted immediately for his gear, featuring a commemorative label. While part of Ovechkin’s equipment is now displayed, he retained his goal stick and puck. Ovechkin aims to open a museum in Moscow showcasing both his gear and a collection of sticks from others.
The Hockey Hall of Fame has added memorabilia from Ovechkin's 895th career goal to its "NHL Today" showcase, including a jersey and the socks Ovechkin wore when he broke Wayne Gretzky's NHL goals record.
After Ovechkin broke the record on Long Island, the Capitals and sports memorabilia company MeiGray began an immediate authentication process of his gear, leading to the display of the commemorative "Ovie Goal 895 Equipment" label.
Ovechkin brought both the stick and puck from his 895th goal with him when he returned home to Russia this summer.
Ovechkin plans to eventually open a museum in Moscow featuring both his own game-used gear and the impressive collection of sticks he's gathered from teammates and opponents.
