"It's been great so far. Good work days. Also, yesterday, nice little fun at the Navy camp. So, yeah, it's been good so far."
"I think I go from camp, try my best here, and then see wherever I end up and do my best there. I mean, I want to try American hockey, so I try to stay here. I go with that mindset, so we'll see."
"It was an honor representing Washington over in Europe and for Switzerland. I mean, you always represent them and the team you play for. So, yeah, it was lots of fun."
Leon Muggli, a 19-year-old Swiss defenseman and 2024 second-round pick of the Washington Capitals, attended his second Capitals rookie camp at the Naval Academy. He played 40 games for EV Zug in Switzerland's top league last season, recording 11 points (5g, 6a) and 43 penalty minutes. The Capitals assigned him to the AHL’s Hershey Bears after the Swiss season, and he debuted in two late-regular-season games on April 12. Muggli aims to remain in North American pro hockey and earn a full season with Hershey under new head coach Derek King. He is also eligible for a third U20 World Junior Championship, having served as an alternate captain and recorded four assists in nine tournament games.
