"Everything happens. You can't go back and change anything,"
"It's ugly sometimes at the end, but I think for the majority of the time I was here, it was positive. I'm not going to sit here and dwell over the way it ended. I didn't expect that to be pretty. And it wasn't."
"J.T. is an unbelievable player. He plays hard,"
"If I'm matched up with him tonight, I'll try to be on the winning side of it."
J.T. Miller expects an emotional night returning to Vancouver after being traded last season. Miller spent six seasons in Vancouver, totaling 437 points in 404 games and signing a seven-year, $56 million extension in 2022. A longstanding personal conflict with Elias Pettersson fractured the Canucks' locker room and precipitated Miller's trade on Jan. 31 to the New York Rangers for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini and a conditional 2025 first-round pick. Miller waived his no-trade clause to facilitate the deal and was named Rangers captain prior to the season. Pettersson downplayed emotions and praised Miller's on-ice abilities.
