"Sandin suffered an upper-body injury in the Capitals' 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on October 21. The Swedish blueliner skated a season low 15:01 of ice time that night and received only four shifts in the third period. His last jaunt on the ice came via a 21-second shift with 7:53 left in regulation. "He should be okay," head coach Spencer Carbery said Thursday. "We consider him day-to-day, so nothing long-term." Sandin returned to the ice on Monday for the first time since the injury, getting some twirls in while wearing a non-contact jersey before Capitals practice began."
"He's missed the last two games. Declan Chisholm, who was scratched in Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators, appears likely to suit up in his place for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center. During Monday's practice, Chisholm skated on the Capitals' bottom defense pairing with Trevor van Riemsdyk. Sandin is eligible to return to the Capitals seven days after he suffered his injury, meaning he'd be able to play again as soon as Friday against the New York Islanders. Sandin is averaging 19:23 of ice time and has recorded two assists in seven games this season. Last season, he played in all 82 contests, recording 30 points (4g, 26a)."
Rasmus Sandin suffered an upper-body injury on October 21 during a 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken and skated a season-low 15:01 that night. The injury limited his shifts and his last on-ice appearance was a 21-second shift late in regulation. He has missed two games, returned to practice in a non-contact jersey, and is considered day-to-day. Sandin was placed on injured reserve to accommodate Ethen Frank, who was recalled after Dylan Strome sustained a lower-body injury. Sandin is eligible to return seven days after the injury and has averaged 19:23 and two assists in seven games this season.
