Child Struck By Van While Crossing NYC Street, NYPD Says
Briefly

A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car while crossing a street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The accident occurred around 8:40 a.m. involving a Nissan van carrying four passengers. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was not injured and had not faced any charges as of Wednesday. The road had previously seen another tragic incident this summer, where an 8-year-old boy was hit and killed while crossing the same intersection.
The child, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, was crossing the service road at Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue around 8:40 a.m. when he was struck by a Nissan van carrying four passengers.
At the time of the collision, the van was heading west on the Eastern Parkway service road as the boy was crossing the street, police said.
This is the second child to be struck on that road this summer. In June, 8-year-old Mordica Keller was crossing the street with his sister at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue when a driver hit and killed him.
