Manhattan Theatre Club Finds Its Queens
Briefly

Manhattan Theatre Club is set to present a revised version of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok's play, 'Queens', starting October 14 at New York City Center Stage I. Opening night is scheduled for November 5 under the direction of Trip Cullman. The cast includes notable actors such as Anna Chlumsky and Marin Ireland. The narrative focuses on a young Ukrainian woman navigating the complexities faced by immigrant women in Queens as she searches for her mother. Majok has expressed deep personal investment in the characters, referring to them as family.
"Queens means the world to me," said Majok in an earlier statement. "I first began writing it in 2016 and I've been searching for it ever since, in various workshops, productions, and late nights and early mornings."
Majok has reportedly been working on a major revision that MTC will debut. The play centers on a young Ukrainian woman who comes to an illegal basement apartment in Queens in search of her mother.
