With voting days away in the New York City mayoral election, Mayor Eric Adams officially endorsed former governor Andrew Cuomo and positioned both against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani. Adams labeled Mamdani a "socialist and communist," called him a "snake-oil salesman" and accused him of gentrification, while warning against policies he tied to European models and Islamic extremism. Adams and Cuomo acknowledged past clashes but united over opposition to Mamdani. Cuomo criticized Mamdani's critiques of Israel as antisemitic. Mamdani accused Adams and Cuomo of corruption and aligning with the billionaire class, and business executives and President Trump have also attacked Mamdani.
