A woman broke into an empty subway train in Queens at around 4:30 a.m. and drove it to the 36th Avenue station in Astoria. The train was locked and no passengers were onboard during the joyride, which resulted in no damage to the train. The MTA confirmed N train service was not affected by the incident. An investigation is currently ongoing, following earlier incidents of kids stealing R trains in the city earlier this year.
Police are searching for a woman who broke into an empty subway train and took it for a joyride in Queens on Thursday around 4:30 a.m.
The unidentified woman got inside a locked N train and operated it to the 36th Avenue station in Astoria.
The MTA stated that no one was on board during the incident and the train was left undamaged, with N train service not impacted.
An investigation remains ongoing regarding the subway joyride incident, following similar incidents earlier this year involving stolen R trains.
