Custom glam: Council Member Farias collabs with Bronx dressmaker Edwin Reyes for elected officials' fashion show - Bronx Times
""All the dominos kind of fell in place," Farías said."
""simple, sexy, and very elegant""
Amanda Farías selected a Bronx-based designer to create a first-ever fully custom, glamorous look for the Style Across the Aisle runway benefiting a nonprofit. Models for the show include former Governors Andrew Cuomo and David Paterson, Queens Council Member Julie Won, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Assembly Member Jenifer Rajkumar, former Rep. Carolyn Maloney, Council Minority Leader Joann Ariola and Assembly Member Eddie Gibbs. Edwin Reyes agreed to design and sew a flowy, halter-neck fuchsia gown on an accelerated timeline, producing the dress in about one-fourth the usual time and fitting it at his Hunts Point studio. Reyes recently gained exposure after a Vogue feature for a hand-sewn, ruffled Puerto Rican flag skirt worn by singer Lorén Aldarondo Torres during part of Bad Bunny's residency.
