Stefon Diggs, receiver for the New England Patriots, has been cleared for full participation in training camp after rehab for a torn ACL. Previously limited during offseason workouts, Diggs managed 47 catches for 496 yards last season before his injury. The Patriots have lacked a 1,000 yard receiver since 2019 and have had varied leaders in catches over the last two seasons. Diggs is expected to lead a revamped receiver group that includes rookie Kyle Williams and free-agent Mack Hollins. Training camp begins Wednesday in Foxborough.
Diggs has looked strong in his return after tearing his ACL last October while taking team reps with second-year QB Drake Maye.
The Patriots have been starved for talent at the receiver position recently. They haven't had a 1,000 yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019.
Chances are that Diggs will end up leading a re-tooled version of the group which now includes free-agent addition Mack Hollins and rookie Kyle Williams.
After spending the first five seasons of his career in Minnesota, Diggs will kick off training camp with his third team in three seasons.
