VMware perpetual license holders face issues accessing security patches following Broadcom's acquisition, which ended perpetual license sales. Many businesses are running VMware without support contracts yet expect zero-day security patches. Reports indicate some users may need to wait up to 90 days for these patches, which raises concerns about their virtualization environments' security. VMware revealed three critical flaws in its offerings on July 15, adding to the urgency of the situation. Broadcom assures that legacy users will have free access to patches but requires entitlement validation to access them now.
VMware customer service has told some of these customers that they may have to wait 90 days before they can download the patches, The Register reported.

VMware disclosed three critical flaws in eight of its offerings on July 15.
