Oakland reported a 25-day stretch without any homicides by the end of May and into June. There has been a significant decrease in violent crimes, including homicides and robberies, as data shows year-to-year declines across the board. The Ceasefire program, which helps high-risk individuals through life coaching, is credited with contributing to this reduction. Alongside the program, the CHP and U.S. Marshals have assisted in apprehending suspects involved in various crimes, enhancing overall public safety in the city.
