The Trump administration is studying the safety of aluminum-containing vaccine adjuvants and may consider removing the ingredient. President Trump publicly expressed a desire for vaccines without aluminum. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has long questioned aluminum safety. A CDC Advisory Committee working group is reviewing ingredients present across vaccines, including whether different aluminum adjuvants increase asthma risk. Most public health experts find no credible evidence that aluminum in vaccines causes harm. Aluminum salts have been used for nearly a century to boost immune responses in vaccines and are considered safe and effective by vaccine scientists.
