"no punishment"
"Vini did well, he was impeccable. He spoke from the heart, with sincerity. I was very satisfied and for me, from that moment the matter is closed."
"Vini showed his honesty, he spoke from the heart, what this club means to him. For me what's most important is what he said to his teammates, the fans and the club. I'm very satisfied and since Wednesday, the subject is closed and we're thinking about what's next."
Xabi Alonso said there will be no punishment for Vinícius Júnior after the player stormed off when substituted during Real Madrid's 2-1 LaLiga win over Barcelona. Vinícius apologised on social media to fans, teammates, the club and president Florentino Pérez but did not mention Alonso. Alonso said the player spoke sincerely during a meeting after two days' rest, praising the apology as valuable and positive and stating the matter is closed. ESPN reported a damaged relationship after Alonso left Vinícius out of the starting eleven three times this season. Alonso confirmed Vinícius faces no sanction and is available for Valencia.
