Data centres approved at Southall industrial site
"One of West London's largest industrial estates is set to be demolished and replaced by data centres. Warehouses and workshops at the Southall Industrial Estate on Trident Way will be replaced by four data centre units, as well as a central pavillion, and office spaces. The redevelopment is expected to create over 1,120 permanent new jobs, and 460 new construction jobs per year during building, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service."
"The developer GTR London has made a 300,000 contribution towards off-site flood risk mitigation, along with a 20m planning gain agreement. This included 6m for Ealing Council's data centre training and skills strategy. Plan included four industrial buildings including a logistics and distribution centre, a central pavilion and two power-generating substations, smaller workshops and office space. The pavilion would house offices and support facilities and was intended to be the focal point of the entrance to the new-look industrial estate."
