"The number of homeowners taking on lodgers has hugely increased in recent years due to rising costs and housing pressures. Many are people opting to rent a room from their home-owning friend rather than take their chances in the overheated rental market. But living alongside a live-in landlord, who's also your friend, can test the relationship. We would like to hear from people who have had experiences of living with a friendlord in the past 5-10 years, about how it affected your friendship, positively or negatively."

Homeowners are increasingly taking on lodgers because of rising costs and housing pressures. Many renters are choosing to rent rooms from friends rather than risk the competitive rental market. Living with a friend who is also a live-in landlord can place strain on personal relationships and test boundaries. Contributors with experience from the past five to ten years are invited to describe how such living arrangements affected friendships, positively or negatively. Submissions may be anonymous and are collected via an encrypted form. Data will be used only for the feature and personal information will be deleted when no longer required.
