Nelly and Ashanti have welcomed their first child together, a boy named Kareem, at the end of 2023. Nelly, who is 50 years old, shares two older children, Chanelle and Cornell, with his ex-girlfriend Channetta Valentine. Additionally, he has adopted his niece and nephew, Shawn and Sydney, after the tragic passing of his sister Jackie due to leukaemia in 2005. After a relationship that began in the 2000s, Nelly and Ashanti resumed dating approximately seven years after their initial breakup.
