While progressing through The Odin Project, a student built a custom app for a friend's horse stable business, addressing significant operational inefficiencies. The original pricing process was manual, involving measurements and customer interactions, prompting the student to create a more efficient solution. Within a week, a console version was developed, leading the student to consider online deployment, although they hadn't yet reached that lesson in The Odin Project. A workaround allowed the friend to use the app locally until proper deployment was feasible.
The current system for customizing stalls involved manual measurements and price calculations, which was both exhausting and inefficient for sales operations.
I felt confident in handling classes and objects from my previous project, and the challenge of building an app for my friend's business excited me.
I managed to build a fully working console version of the app within a week, showcasing my growing programming skills and time management.
Despite not having reached deployment in The Odin Project yet, I sought out solutions for deploying my Ruby app while keeping my friend engaged.
