Putin says he thinks Ukraine war 'coming to an end'
"“I think that the matter is coming to an end.”"
"“They started ratcheting up the confrontation with Russia, which continues to this day. I think it is heading to an end, but it's still a serious matter.”"
"“We are counting on the Ukrainian side to respond to the proposal made by the President of the United States. Unfortunately, we still have not received any proposals so far,” he told reporters."
"“He said he would only meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy once a lasting peace deal was agreed.”"
Putin said the Ukraine war is coming to an end. He stated that Western support for Ukraine escalated confrontation with Russia and that the situation is heading toward an end while remaining serious. He named former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder as his preferred EU negotiator for forthcoming peace talks. He said Moscow had not received proposals from Ukraine regarding a large prisoner swap announced by US President Donald Trump, and that Russia is waiting for Ukraine to respond. He said he would meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy only after a lasting peace deal is agreed.
