FCA's LGBT staff group won't march at Pride due to company's trans toilet policy
Briefly

The Financial Conduct Authority's LGBTQ+ staff network, InsideOut, has decided not to march under the organization's banner at Pride due to policy changes that designate single-sex facilities based on biological sex. This decision followed internal discussions and reflected concerns from members that such policies undermined inclusivity. While the FCA has been recognized for its LGBTQ+ inclusion, the new policy has led to feelings of alienation among some employees. Instead, the network plans to attend Pride as individuals to show support for the transgender community without the FCA branding.
In an email seen by PinkNews, members of InsideOut said that in the wake of discussions with senior leaders, the steering group "cannot, in good conscious, organise and support the [financial regulator's] attendance at any Pride celebrations this year".
[We] do not believe we can march under the FCA's logo and promote inclusivity at and on behalf of the FCA" following the decision to update internal policies in the wake of the UK Supreme Court's ruling.
We know for many this may be disappointing, many feel the need more than ever to attend Pride and stand alongside the community protesting the current decisions being made.
The decision by the staff network comes after a post was shared by management on the internal staff intranet, which outlined the change in policy - labelled an "ill-thought out, knee-jerk reaction".
