'That's No Lady': Remembering Walter Cole * Oregon ArtsWatch
Briefly

Triangle Productions is reviving 'That's No Lady' as a tribute to Walter Cole, known as Darcelle, and his partner Roc Neuhart. This show, running from June 5-22, celebrates Cole's impact on the LGBTQI+ community and his support for artists during difficult times, notably during the AIDS crisis. An in-depth discussion between Donald Horn and Kevin Loomis sheds light on Cole's legacy and the contributions from local musicians to this heartfelt production.
It was the early early nineties, when I first started the theater and I needed to get a costume, and I was told to go down to this club. I was actually walking down Third Avenue and there was a guy walking by, and I saw that he was wearing long fingernails and rings and big starry glasses, but he was in sweats. And I thought, 'that's such a weird look, but down here, who knows?'.
He did it every day during the AIDS crisis. He provided support to artists and those in need, showing his dedication to the community.
