Somewhere to Oakland is a month of free vertical dance performances, live music, community talks, and rituals hosted at Frank H. Ogawa/Oscar Grant Plaza. Over 50 local artists will participate, emphasizing themes of migration through the unique storytelling of both birds and humans. The project includes transformational performances on significant Oakland landmarks, like City Hall, the Rotunda Building, and the Jack London Oak Tree. Workshops, community art-making, and performances will promote social and cultural connection among diverse audiences throughout the event.
