Exclusive | Dramatic video shows hero surf instructor rescue drowning girl
""On a typical competition day I coach from the sand. It was only because I was on a break that I decided just this one time to coach on the rocks.""
""I dove head-first in the water. I could tell it was a matter of seconds before they were both going to drown.""
""So the dad said once I dove from the rocks, I was like a guardian angel.""
""Miraculously, no one required medical attention, Taub said.""
Lucas Taub, a surf instructor, rescued six-year-old Coco Greene and her father from a riptide during a surf competition in Oceanside. Taub, who was coaching on the rocks instead of the sand, noticed the pair struggling in the water. He dove in and reached them just in time, preventing a potential drowning. The father had been too exhausted to save them himself. Lifeguards assisted on the beach, and fortunately, no one required medical attention after the incident.
