Camera crews filmed scenes for the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Voicemails for Isabelle at multiple San Francisco locations, including the Pier 39 carousel, Golden Gate Park, Union Square and the Palace of Fine Arts. Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson participated in the local shoots. The film follows Jill (Deutch) coping with her sister's death by leaving voicemails chronicling her chaotic San Francisco life, which are later received by an Austin real estate agent (Robinson) after the number is reassigned. The cast also includes Nick Offerman, Lukas Gage and Harry Shum Jr. Director Leah McKendrick, a San Francisco native, appears in the film and is set to move on to a Universal monster project produced by James Wan.
