Killington Superstar Glacier Conditions Report May 1
"The Superstar Trail is now sitting on a staggering 34 feet of snow, giving the resort a real shot at skiing into June."
"The snow was soft and slushy, with large moguls lining the entire trail. For early May, in the rain, the conditions were surprisingly solid."
"Mud, rocks, and dirt started creeping in, a reminder that it's May and most East Coast resorts shut down weeks ago."
"I went back to lapping Superstar, as the conditions were much better compared to the challenges faced on Skyelark."
Killington, Vermont, features the Superstar Glacier with 34 feet of snow, allowing skiing into June. The weather was 50°F and foggy, with light drizzle. The upgraded Doppelmayr six-pack lift provided access to the trails. Although seven runs were advertised, only two main routes were open. The Superstar trail had solid conditions with soft, slushy snow and moguls. The Skyelark route presented challenges with mud and rocks, but coverage improved further down. Overall, conditions were surprisingly good for early May skiing.
