Bayern Munich looking to sign backup striker for Harry Kane next summer
"Harry Kane is lighting the world on fire at Bayern Munich, but aside for Nicolas Jackson, the club really doesn't have an outright backup striker for the England skipper. Even so, both Kane and Jackson have played interchangeable positions when they've been on the pitch together as Vincent Kompany has used Jackson in wide roles, secondary striker roles, and has let Kane frequently drop deeper into midfield to play some of his long diagonals and open up space for his teammates to run in behind."
"Per information from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg from Transfer Update Die Show (via @iMiaSanMia_GER), Bayern in actively looking in the transfer market for a Kane backup striker to try to sign this summer. Kane's contract with the German Rekordmeister runs through June 2027, but extension tlaks are set to take place at some point in the near future and the club is remaining relaxed over the situation."
"So far, the club has identified TSG Hoffenheim's Fisnik Asllani as one of their top prospects to be a Kane backup striker. To 23-year-old has found the back of the next 6 times for Hoffenheim so far this season and has also provided 2 assists. His contract with Die Kraichgauer runs through June 2029 and he is currently valuated at around 18 million euros."
Harry Kane has scored 105 goals and provided 29 assists in 109 appearances for Bayern since joining from Tottenham two summers ago, leaving the club thin on an outright backup striker aside from Nicolas Jackson. Vincent Kompany has deployed Kane and Jackson in interchangeable roles, with Jackson used wide or as a secondary striker while Kane often drops deeper to create space. Bayern are actively seeking a backup striker this summer and are relaxed about Kane's contract through June 2027 while planning extension talks. Chelsea loanee Jackson is unlikely to be bought permanently. Hoffenheim's 23-year-old Fisnik Asllani, valued around €18 million and with a release clause, has been identified as a top target.
