Savannah DeMelo collapsed late in the first half of Racing Louisville's match at Lumen Field and was taken to a local hospital for testing to determine the cause. DeMelo expressed gratitude for her family, the club's medical staff, teammates and fans and said she looked forward to supporting the team. Racing Louisville announced the match will resume behind closed doors the following evening with the score tied 0-0. The club's general manager credited athletic trainers and Seattle Reign medical staff for rapid assistance. DeMelo previously left a match with dizziness and chest tightness and has disclosed Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism.
