"However, if you look or listen close enough, there are some fans and pundits urging everyone to proceed with caution - and maybe rightfully so. Why? Because Bayern Munich's track record of actually developing star-level players has been, well, questionable in recent seasons. Just look at the respective careers of PSV Eindhoven's Paul Wanner and Everton's Adam Aznou - two players who were labeled as "can't miss" have really, well, struck out."
"Wanner, who had Germany and Austria ready to create border hostility over him just a few years ago is no longer safely ensconced in the plans for either country. Most saw Wanner's move to the Netherlands as a chance to revive his sputtering career, but things have not worked out. Wanner has played in six games across all competitions, tallying no goals or assists, and only playing 116 total minutes."
"As for Aznou, his immature antics at the Club World Cup greased his pathway right out of the club, which was really his end goal for the behavior. A funny thing happened on the way to becoming an instant star, though...it didn't happen. In fact, Aznou could not even buy minutes in England if he wanted to and could be on his way to being loaned out."
Seventeen-year-old Lennart Karl is attracting scouting attention from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City due to his energetic performances. Concerns exist because Bayern Munich has struggled to convert promising teenagers into lasting stars in recent seasons. Paul Wanner moved to PSV Eindhoven to revive his career but has featured only six times across competitions, totaling 116 minutes with no goals or assists. Adam Aznou exited his previous club after immature behavior and has managed just two appearances and 170 minutes at Everton without goal contributions. Everton is reportedly open to loaning Aznou to secure more playing time.
