"I'm happy for him that he scored the goal, but after that, I hope that he's going to score again because he can do it,"
"You know me, I'm not a guy that's trying to make assumptions. The reality is if he scores, he scores."
"He did a good game because the last game, it was average, I would say; it was good stuff, but not enough."
"First game as a starter, it is very normal. This time, he was good defensively and also offensively. Good for him."
Wessam Abou Ali scored his first MLS goal in Columbus Crew's 5-4 win over Atlanta United after the team raced to a 5-0 lead inside 40 minutes. The 26-year-old joined Columbus from Al Ahly at the end of June and made his debut as a substitute on August 23. Wilfried Nancy praised Abou Ali’s defensive and offensive contributions in his first start and encouraged him to add more goals. Diego Rossi left injured before half-time, increasing Abou Ali’s potential importance. Columbus sit fifth on 49 points, two above seventh-place NYCFC, who have a game in hand. Atlanta finished with a 3.78 expected goals total while Columbus had seven shots on target.
