The Washington Capitals have signed Swedish forward Theodor Niederbach to a one-year contract worth $1.025 million in the NHL and $85,000 in the minors. Niederbach, a 2020 second-round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings, has spent his entire career in Sweden's SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan. He recorded 32 points in 52 games for Frolunda HC in 2025-26 and 33 points in 51 games for MoDo Hockey in 2024-25. The Capitals signed him to bolster the Hershey Bears for next season.
