Tipperary secured their 29th All-Ireland Hurling title by defeating Cork 3-27 to 1-18 in a commanding performance at Croke Park. Despite Cork being favorites after two prior victories against Tipperary this season, it was a strong second-half effort that secured the win. Tipperary fans expressed their joy and confidence, with one noting they backed their team and felt it was a great day to celebrate. Others reflected on the hope before the match and the ultimate realization of their victory as 'epic'.
"What a day to be alive," said 26-year-old Tipperary fan Ciara Horan from Drangan. Despite being underdogs heading into Sunday's tie, Ms Horan never doubted that her county could do the job on the day, despite having lost twice to Cork already this year.
"I had an awful feeling in my waters that they were going to do it," said Horan, showing her unfaltering belief in Tipperary despite their past losses.
"We were probably hopeful coming up," said Brendan Ryan. "Even at half-time we were kind of saying 'we're kind of in it' but then we stayed tagging on a couple of points."
Reflecting on his confidence before the final whistle, Ryan described the result as "epic" and analyzed how the game shifted in Tipperary's favor after the initial uncertainty.
