Adriana George immigrated to the U.S. from the Caribbean and worked as a nanny in New York City and Philadelphia. She connected with other nannies, sharing experiences of long hours and abusive employers. Recognizing their rights, George began collecting testimonies from fellow workers about their mistreatment. She became a full-time organizer with the National Domestic Workers Alliance, leading the We Dream in Black program in Pennsylvania to advocate for Black, Afro-Latina, and Caribbean domestic workers.
