GitLab introduces AI agent-enabled devsecops platform
Briefly

The GitLab Duo Agent Platform includes a chat agent for general development tasks and a software development agent for creating code changes and merge requests. Currently in beta, GitLab is developing agents for various functions, such as product planning and security analysis. Agent flows, also in beta, are complex workflows that can involve multiple agents operating autonomously to manage code changes. The platform can connect to Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to interact with external systems like Jira and ServiceNow, with an official GitLab MCP Server coming soon.
The GitLab Duo Agent Platform currently includes a chat agent that performs general development tasks and a software development agent that works on assigned tasks.
GitLab is building agent flows into the platform, which are complex workflows involving multiple agents that can run autonomously.
Agent flows, such as the software development flow, can orchestrate agents to manage code changes based on project structure and context.
The GitLab Duo Agent Platform can connect to various MCP servers, enabling agents to gather context or take actions beyond GitLab.
