The departure decision stemmed from a personal desire for a fresh start rather than negative experiences at the company. Reflections from time at OpenAI acknowledge the unique opportunity to contribute to significant technological advancements, including AGI and LLMs.
The company was a little over 1,000 people. One year later, it is over 3,000 and I was in the top 30% by tenure.
