Slate plans to design, manufacture and sell EV accessories while releasing full design data so owners can 3D-print and sell their own parts. Slate will host a marketplace and may take fees when collaborating with creators, but creators can sell independently elsewhere. San Francisco's mayor welcomed Waymo and other autonomous vehicle companies to use the city as a testbed.
