CNN and Universal Music Group are producing an untitled CNN Original music docuseries hosted by Fred Armisen that will premiere later this year. The series will explore Universal Music Group's extensive vaults and archives, spotlighting artists including Nirvana and Guns N' Roses. The UMG archives include a secured vault at Iron Mountain in Boyers, Pennsylvania, 220 feet underground in a former limestone mine. The series will unearth original recordings, master tapes, rare photos and performances, alternative album art and music videos, many previously unseen or unheard. Fred Armisen expressed enthusiasm about exploring the archives and collecting boxed sets. Premiere date is to be announced.
