CBS announced plans in July to cancel The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2026 for "financial" reasons, sparking speculation about corporate pressure from Paramount and Skydance on network programming. Observers questioned whether Comedy Central's The Daily Show might face similar cuts. In July Jon Stewart, part-time host and executive producer, said, "I'm not going anywhere. I think."
