"consumed by obsession, seduction and murder"
"I love it. I've gotten a nickname: 'Mother'. The highest respect. Thank you. Thank you very much."
"It's so fun, juicy and sexy. I wanted to do an exploration of women behaving badly, unapologetic sexual conquest running rampant, and just something fun."
"fantasy of freedom or power that maybe we don't feel so much as middle-aged women"
Netflix renewed The Hunting Wives for an eight-part second season. The series is set in the fictional Texas town of Maple Brook and follows Sophie O'Neil, who moves from Boston after her husband takes a job in Texas. Sophie grows close to socialite Margo Banks and becomes caught up in obsession, seduction and murder. The show explores raunchy lesbian affairs that occur behind the characters' husbands and has prompted both praise and criticism for its tone and explicitness. Showrunner Rebecca Perry Cutter defends the series as fun, sexy and an exploration of unapologetic female behavior. Season one streams now on Netflix US.
