Heated Rivalry centers on the secret romance between longtime hockey rivals Ilya and Shane and adapts Rachel Reid's Game Changers novels. Jacob Tierney optioned the entire book series, including the forthcoming Unrivaled, and plans to base Season 2 on The Long Game while considering whether to split that book across seasons. Tierney capped Season 2 at six episodes and emphasized tighter storytelling over longer episode counts. Producing partner Brendan Brady said the show should leave viewers yearning. Tierney plans to introduce more Game Changers characters, including Troy Barrett and Scott Hunter. No premiere date was specified.
