Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed strong dissatisfaction with some judges in the province, accusing them of being soft on crime and making decisions driven by ideology. He proposed the idea of electing judges to enhance accountability. His remarks came in the wake of a court decision regarding bike lanes in Toronto that challenged the province's authority. While praising some judges, Ford specifically targeted those he believes are not adequately tough on crime and suggested financial incentives for them to retire sooner.
Last time I checked there hasn't been any judges elected. Maybe that's the problem we should do what the U.S. does. Let's start electing our judges, holding them accountable.
These judges that are bleeding hearts, I can't wait until they retire. Matter of fact, I'll pay them to retire earlier. I'll pay you out, for two, three, four years.
