Derek Martin, 67, was found guilty of murdering Chloe Bashford and her husband Josh at their Newhaven home in June 2023. Martin had previously been married to Chloe's mother. After the killings he collected the couple's four children from school, took them to Costa Coffee and McDonald's, and returned them to their grandmother's home in Brighton. He then handed himself into a police station and told officers, "I've killed two people." Martin has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 6 November.
