The UK is expected to experience unsettled and humid weather, leading to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Thunderstorm warnings are in effect for Northern Ireland, Northeast England, and much of England over the weekend. High temperatures may reach 30°C in eastern England. Showers and thunderstorms will persist into next week, with some drier spells anticipated. Despite the unsettled conditions, temperatures are expected to remain near normal to above normal, particularly in sunnier regions. Mid-week may see a settling of conditions, although showers could still affect eastern parts of the UK.
The Met Office has issued Thunderstorm warnings for parts of Northern Ireland until 8pm today, Northeast England for Friday afternoon and for much of England from tomorrow evening through Saturday.
More warnings could be issued for the weekend and early next week. Keep an eye on the Met Office forecast for updates as the picture develops.
Within the warm and humid airmass we will potentially see temperatures reaching 30°C or more for parts of eastern England by Friday, with very warm and muggy conditions continuing into the weekend.
Looking ahead to next week, the unsettled pattern is expected to continue, with showers and thunderstorms at times, although some drier, brighter interludes are also likely.
