Mohammed Fethaullah, a 64-year-old convicted murderer and rapist, died in prison on May 13th. Known for his heinous crimes committed in the early 2000s, Fethaullah was sentenced to life for orchestrating the murder of his stepmother, Yasmin Akhtar, amid family disputes. He also faced allegations for raping a 14-year-old girl in 1999, which resulted in her giving birth to a child, confirmed by DNA evidence in 2016 to be his. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death at HMP High Down is currently being conducted by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman.
