'You knew you were in a box and couldn't get out' - how 14 minutes of horror unfolded on train bound for London
"At first, there were a few of us kind of looking at each other thinking it was a joke − like it's Halloween, it might be pranking. But then you can kind of see in their faces they're being serious. I put my hand on a chair, just trying to push myself forward, and then I look at my hand and it's covered in blood."
"Run, run, run... there's a guy stabbing literally everyone and everything."
"Keep yourself safe"
A knife attacker began stabbing passengers on the 6.25pm LNER service after it left Peterborough, leaving travellers trapped until an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon 14 minutes later. Ten people sustained injuries, with two in critical condition. Some passengers hid in toilets while others collapsed, and seats were soaked in blood. Initial reactions included disbelief and assumptions of a prank before the seriousness became clear. Passengers reported hearing tannoy warnings to keep themselves safe and saw others fleeing or shouting urgent warnings. The attack occurred on a Doncaster-to-London service that had been scheduled to arrive at King's Cross.
