Tyler Robinson, 22, returned to a Discord server after the Utah Valley University shooting and posted messages admitting he was responsible for the killing of Charlie Kirk. He wrote that he was at UVU and apologized for his actions, and he told users he would surrender through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Shell casings recovered at the event bore etched references to video games. Friends and acquaintances identified Robinson as an active gamer and confirmed his Discord activity to police. Authorities took Robinson into custody two days after the shooting. Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson had confessed to his family before turning himself in.
