New video shows moments after Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen's killer took his own life
"KILLEEN, Texas (KTRK) -- For the first time, the City of Killeen, Texas, released dash cam video from the night the man accused of killing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen took his life. Aaron Robinson had been fleeing authorities in the early morning hours of July 1, 2020. Police say they were closing in on him as the prime suspect for the murder of Guillen that April."
"The footage starts in the immediate aftermath of Robinson turning the gun on himself. Officer Frost with the Killeen Police Department pulls up after the shot has been fired, and we see one of Robinson's legs fall to the ground. The police move in to secure the weapon, check for a pulse, mark off the area, and discuss what happened."
The City of Killeen released dash cam video showing the moments after Aaron Robinson fatally shot himself the night he was being pursued as the prime suspect in the April murder of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen. Robinson had been fleeing authorities in the early morning hours of July 1, 2020, when officers closed in. The footage shows Officer Frost arriving after the shot, Robinson's leg falling, police securing the weapon, checking for a pulse, marking the scene and discussing the incident. Audio from the footage will air Oct. 28 in a bonus episode of the ABC Audio and "20/20" podcast " Vanished: What Happened to Vanessa."
