US: Strike on suspected drug traffickers kills 14 DW 10/28/2025
""The four vessels were known by our intelligence apparatus, transiting along known narco-trafficking routes, and carrying narcotics,""
""We will track them, we will network them, and then, we will hunt and kill them,""
""I think we're just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. Okay? We're going to kill them, you know, they're going to be like, dead.""
United States military forces conducted strikes on four vessels off the coast of Colombia, killing 14 people linked to designated terrorist groups trafficking narcotics. Intelligence identified the vessels as transiting established narco-trafficking routes and carrying narcotics. Those strikes form part of a series of 13 disclosed strikes since early September that have resulted in at least 57 deaths. The operations were justified by officials as an escalation intended to stem the flow of drugs into the United States while declining to seek a formal declaration of war from Congress. Authorities labeled some victims "narco-terrorists" and signaled continued targeting of maritime drug traffickers.
