Coca-Cola Is Actually Releasing A Cane Sugar Version
Briefly

Coca-Cola announced a new product made with U.S. cane sugar to launch this fall, expanding its offerings, but not replacing high fructose corn syrup. While President Trump claimed credit for this shift, Coca-Cola's decision is independent of his influence. Health expert Dariush Mozaffarian suggested that switching sugars may not significantly impact health. Concerns over high fructose corn syrup persist among consumers, but Coca-Cola did not mention Trump in their announcement, indicating a focus on consumer preferences or market opportunities to increase revenue.
In the company's most recent earnings report, Coca-Cola announced that 'this fall in the United States, the company plans to launch an offering made with U.S. cane sugar to expand its Trademark Coca-Cola product range. This addition is designed to complement the company's strong core portfolio and offer more choices across occasions and preferences.'
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has railed against high fructose corn syrup, but 'replacing one sugar with another isn't going to have much of an effect on health,' said Dariush Mozaffarian, director of the Food is Medicine Institute at Tufts University.
